Devoted to premium hand-crafted sake.

Nara Toyosawa Sake Brewery began trading in 1868.
They established their own brand, placing specific focus on handmade techniques, aiming to serve the finest quality sake to as many customers as possible.
5th generation company president, Takahiko Toyosawa, explains the true appeal of their sake.

Experiencing hand-crafted sake.

When sake sales were at their peak, the previous brewery president anticipated the changing times ahead, and gradually shifted towards producing junmai sake, made without added alcohol or sugar.
While the process of sake brewing became increasingly mechanized, the firm has stayed true to their methods, producing sake from the skilled hands of trained brewers.
Over 80% of the sake produced at the brewery is above the level of high-quality junmai sake.

An exceptional malt

Malted rice used in the production of sake is said to be the largest determining factor of its quality. This malt is exclusively produced by hand.
Sake is made with the power of microbes.
With skill and experience, the process of nurturing these tiny microbes, provides the finest results for producing sake. Since malt is at the heart of sake-making, no effort is spared.

Connecting tradition with today

Nara Toyosawa Sake Brewery celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2018.
In order to continue producing a premium quality product, the brewery vows to spare no effort to maintain their process, aiming to leverage their customer's feedback to ensure an even better product.
They welcome greater exchange and opinion, hoping to gradually increase their customer and fan base.
Currently, the company is campaigning for more fans, trying their hand at new methods, such as the Hoshuku-kai members group, and with sake stands, Kuramoto Hoshuku inside train stations. It is their intention to connect the tradition of sake with contemporary life.
